This frame is the workhorse of several west coast teams and combines stiffness and light weight for the most demanding racing conditions. Modern butted aluminum tubing and carefully selected all thicknesses and diameters help me tune out the harshness that oversized aluminum can sometimes exhibit.
AL CARBON ROAD
The Al Carbon is the most popular road frame for the last 10 years at Rock Lobster and is a good lightweight choice for the all-day rider. The carbon seatstay really takes the sting out of 100 miles of rough pavement but gives up nothing in the way of stiffness under hard pedaling.
TEAM AL CARBON
I have personally ridden the Team AL Carbon in two double centuries and can attest to its amazing ability to render rider fatigue to a minimum. This frame has the unlikely combination of racing bike response and stiffness with touring bike shock absorption. It’s not an illusion.
TEAM TIG SL
The light road frame that will go the distance, the TIG Team SL is made to last a lifetime but still be light enough to build up a sub-20 lb. bike without breaking the bank. A huge assortment of both classic and modern high-end steel tubing is available, and my nearly 40 years of experience helps me select the right mix of tubes for each rider based on intended use. From rough roads to glass-smooth criteriums, big riders and small, there’s a Team TIG SL that’s up to the task.
If you want a personal artistic statement on wheels then the Signature frame is what you may be looking for. Only about 4-5 of these are produced annually at Rock Lobster and are available in fillet brazed or lugged.
